Featured Project: Backlit Cristallo Quartzite Kitchen – Maru Residence

This showpiece kitchen at the Maru Residence in San Jose, California features breathtaking Cristallo Quartzite surfaces brought to life using Nu World’s custom frameless LED light panels.

Designed to illuminate the countertops, full-height backsplash, and window surround, this installation used 12 precision-built panels to create even, brilliant illumination across all surfaces — without visible hotspots or seam lines.

Custom Panel Design & Dimming System

All panels were manufactured using 6mm thick edge-lit acrylic, delivering slim, unobtrusive backlighting while maintaining high light output and durability. Two large C-shaped and reverse C-shaped panels were engineered to wrap around the window area — a bold design feature that required close coordination between the lighting, millwork, and countertop teams.

To allow full control over brightness and mood, the system uses Magnitude M-Series dimmable drivers paired with standard wall dimmers, allowing smooth and reliable dimming across all zones.
