(Seriously — it’s that simple.)
When people hear “backlighting Cristallo Quartzite,” the first reaction is usually some version of:
“Wait… isn’t that super technical?”
No. Not really.
In fact, we’ve helped clients all across the U.S. — from Miami to San Francisco, Dallas to New York — install backlit Cristallo Quartzite countertops using a process so simple you could explain it over lunch.
Here’s what the industry doesn’t want to tell you:
Backlighting doesn’t need to be complicated.
No bulky light boxes. No crazy wiring. No $800 site visits from a “lighting consultant.”
What you need is a good layering strategy — and a countertop sandwich.
The Cristallo Quartzite Backlight Sandwich (From Bottom to Top)
- Cabinet Framework
Your standard cabinet base — the solid bones of any kitchen or vanity setup. - ½” to ¾” Plywood Sub-Top
This provides a flat, even surface and distributes the weight of the stone evenly over the LED light panel. No sub-top = no support. - Custom LED Light Panel
Manufactured to the exact size and shape of your countertop area. Our panels are only 6mm to 8mm thick and use high-quality 24V components. No bulky boxes. Just clean, even light. - ¼” to ½” Clear Acrylic Spacer
This is your separation layer — it gives the light room to spread evenly and prevents visible seams or hot spots from the LED panel below. - 1/16” White Diffusion Layer (Plexiglas 7328)
Think of this as the mayonnaise in your sandwich. It blends everything together and smooths out any uneven lighting.

This is the top slice of bread — translucent, stunning, and now evenly illuminated from below.
That’s it. Done. No magic. No mystery.
But Wait — What About Cutouts for Sinks and Fixtures?
No problem. Our LED panels can be cut to virtually any shape.
Need a sink void?
Need holes for faucet stems or outlet boxes?
Just keep about ½” off the edges of the panel, and we can CNC-cut voids wherever you need them.
And no, you don’t need a specialized installer. Most of the time, your stone fabricator, electrician, or cabinet maker can install the lighting panels themselves — especially when working with our plug-and-play system.
Is It Complicated to Wire?
Not at all.
We provide simple diagrams and walk you through the power supply setup. Want dimming? You can go with 0–10V, ELV, or wall-mounted Lutron dimmers.
Most residential setups run on 24V DC, and for long countertop runs, we’ll even tell your electrician what wire gauge and distance are ideal.
Do You Ship Across the U.S.?
Absolutely.
